ASG Recommendations

The Auto Scaling Group (ASG) Recommendations report provides a summary of the EC2 instance hours managed by all of your Auto Scaling Groups over the past few weeks. The data is summarized by hour and day for the preceding one-to-four weeks depending on how long Metricly has been monitoring the ASG. Total Instance Count graph: This graph depicts the average total number of instances managed by all of your ASG(s) by hour and day.

AWS Services Cost

View data across all of your AWS services with the AWS Service Cost Report. This report shows not only services currently used, but all services–including those not currently monitored by Metricly–to provide an overall view of your AWS cost. This report can include data from multiple accounts if consolidated billing has been set up and configured. See the admin guide for any installation and configuration steps. Cost Reports

Cost reports enable you to easily identify expensive instances and compare them against utilization, type, elements, and tags. These multi-dimensional reports also break down information like total versus individual instance costs and even how much each instance state (Reserved, On-Demand) costs. Custom tagging is another easy way to group your instances. Cost Reports are generated once per week. It may take up to 7 days before your first report is available.

EC2 Recommendations

This report compares your EC2s and utilization data to the most currently available SKU library in AWS to determine what combination would best suit your existing workload needs. You can also add optional constraints (such as CPU utilization not exceeding a particular level) to filter down recommendation results and highlight different savings opportunities. By default, this report shows your top 10 recommendations. Access (Currently in Beta) To use the updated EC2 Recommendation report, navigate to the Beta page.

EC2 Reservation Recommendations

Avoid overbuying reserved resources with the EC2 Reservation Recommendation report. This report uses instance-hour usage data to compile multi-dimensional visualizations and provide tailor-fit purchasing recommendations to help you achieve longterm savings. An AWS integration with Detailed Billing must be enabled before using this report. This report helps you: Avoid overbuying reserved resources Decide on adequate reservation types for your use cases Get solid recommendations Visualize your total resource usage across multiple dimensions Visualization Options Switch Between Views Click CONFIGURE.

Email Reports are generated and sent after business hours (EST) and can be enabled from your user account profile. Email Reports provide a quick look into your environment from the last 24 hours. Clicking any of the links within the email opens Metricly to the appropriate section. Available Reports There are three main email reports available: the Weekly Recommendation Report, the Daily Top Violator Report, and the Daily AWS Cost Report.

Idle Resources

Keep track of all of your unused resources with our EBS & ELB Idle Resource reports. Each report supports daily email notifications to keep you informed of changes. To Use Unattached EBS or ELB Reports Navigate to Reports > Idle Resources. Select Unattached EBS (or ELB). Available View Sorting Unattached Resource reports can be sorted by each column: Name Location Size VolumeId IOPS Type Monthly Cost Simply click on the column header to sort using that preferred column.

Reports provide a quick glance at some of the most important parts of your environment, including utilization, policy violation, and estimated cost of your inventory. Resource Utilization

The Resource Utilization report uses boxplots to provide simple visualizations of each of your element’s utilization. The types of boxplots shown are controlled by optional filters. Filters allow you to narrow the elements displayed by element name, element type, element tags, and element attributes. Boxplots are a standard way of displaying a distribution of data based on five values: the minimum, the lower quartile (25th percentile), the median, the upper quartile (the 75th percentile), and the maximum.
